Nooitgedacht – Stellenbosch
I was so excited about my first “international” couple (Matt is actually from South Africa, but he has been living in London for many years, so I am going to claim it as international). From the first phone call Matt and I had, to meeting both him and Sarah over Skype, I knew this was going to be challenging, yet soo much fun! I enjoyed Matt’s hands-on involvement in the planning, right down to the spreadsheet with pink colours – you rock, Matt! Sarah is so gentle and simply just lovely. Her vision for their big day and all of the details came together beautifully. I enjoyed working with Lorraine from Lol’s flowers – she is so talented at what she does and so well-organised!
The entire wedding took place outside in Nooitgedacht Estate’s beautiful garden. Their ceremony was held on the lawn, followed by drinks and canapés, while their reception could be enjoyed on the long, cobbled road surrounded by big oak trees. Sarah added personal little touches everywhere; from elegant wooden fans to help keep guests cool during the reception, to flip flops waiting by the dance floor for the ladies. Blankets were also readily available if someone were to get cold. My favourite was the tiny bottles of Amarula liqueur that they had as their wedding favors – adding a hint of South African flair!
The music was excellent from the start. The Palm Strings Trio kept the guests entertained at the canapés and Shout Music Company’s amazing seven-piece swing band got the party started! Later, the DJ took over and at 00:00 everyone got a headset to continue the party under the stars with a silent disco!
Matt and Sarah’s love for people and their caring hearts were evident throughout this whole process. It was an absolute honour to have done their on-the-day wedding coordination.
It was a pleasure to work with Lindy, who captured all of their special moments, and with the Salt Video Production team. Enjoy the photos and video below.
