Eden Studios & Café Felix – Riebeek Kasteel
Johannie is one of the most organised people I know and she likes lists just like me. The two of us go a while back when I moved to Stellenbosch at the end of 2014. We started as flat mates who became dear friends. She was also the person who suggested me to a friend to help with her wedding and that is where my on-the-day wedding coordination started. What a privilege to have also been involved with her big day.
I am not someone who complains quickly about the heat, but man the 27th of October was hot. The ice cold water at the ceremony was so refreshing and for a moment I considered climbing into the container with ice and water! They got married in the beautiful lush green garden of Eden Studios.
The reception was held in the courtyard under the gigantic oak tree at Café Felix. The table décor style was well designed with the features of the restaurant and every detail complementing one another. There were 3 long tables covered in white tablecloths with a mix of different chairs of the restaurant, which created a more relaxed rustic vibe. The décor on the tables where penny gum runners with a few long stem glass candle holders, duck egg green and flower serviettes alternating with a modern green water glass to add that extra touch of style. Johannie did all her stationery herself (with a little bit of help from me, lol). One of my favourite stationery items was her brown paper place cards with the name printed in grey – stunning! I really enjoyed the details of the set up and it was lovely to have my sister there helping with the penny gum runners.
The food at Café Felix was delicious and the atmosphere of friends and family enjoying each other’s company was really special. It was a full day celebration with the ceremony that started around 11am and the party ending 11pm!
